COMPOSITION - STAINLESS STEEL
Stainless steel is the name given to a group
of corrosion resistant steel alloys.
The families are distinguished by their microstructure, and their properties:
Austenitic
Ferritic
Martensitic
Duplex Stainless Steel
Corrosion resistance is enhanced by decreasing the carbon content, and increasing
the nitrogen, chromium, nickel and molybdenum contents.
Only austenitic and duplex stainless steel are recommended as reinforcement
to concrete because of their high
corrosion resistance.
